You're an expert in developing and engaging with online communities and you have mastered social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube as well as tools like Hootsuite and Photoshop. Making GIF, live-stream, photo or video content is an easy task for you. You have a keen eye to recognize content that will go viral. You have an attention to detail. Ocean School needs you!

Creates content designed to encourage engagement on social platforms (polls, questionnaires), advance ocean literacy and increase views on Ocean School content and partners content. Creates an editorial calendar. Applies tactics related to the marketing and communication strategy with the aim of reaching the set goals/objectives. Acts as moderator on social platforms and website. Monitors all social platforms on a regular basis to ensure all comments adhere to our guidelines and responds to comments in a timely fashion. Contributes to the planning of strategies and suggests tactics for social campaigns. Builds relationships with bloggers and other users of social media with the aim of creating partnerships and advocates who can help spread the word about Ocean School. Monitors online trends and conversations to find opportunities. Runs contests and giveaways to build buzz/interest around Ocean School.

Ocean School’s programming focuses on ocean science, technology and innovation while also providing insight into marine careers and the social, economic and cultural dimensions of the human relationship with the ocean.
